🧺 Laundry Guide & House Rules

Whether you’re freshening up beach towels or doing a mid-week wash, the villa’s laundry area is set up to make things simple and convenient.

Please take a moment to read these quick notes before using the machines.

👕 Washing Machine

The washing machine is located in the utility room.
Detergent: Use the laundry detergent provided (usually stored above or beside the machine). Please avoid using bleach.
Load Size: Don’t overload — half to three-quarters full gives the best results.
Cycle Selection: Use the Quick Wash or Eco Wash setting for most loads.
After Use:
- Leave the door slightly open to let the drum dry and prevent odours.
- Remove washed clothes promptly. </aside>

☀️ Drying Laundry

There is a washing line outside — pegs are kept with the detergent. There is no tumble dryer, but you won't need one.
Most washing dries within a couple of hours in the Lefkada sun — hang it out in the morning, before the midday heat.
Please bring laundry in before dark, or if rain or strong wind is forecast.
Please don’t hang wet items over balcony railings or outdoor furniture — it marks the wood and the paintwork.
Where possible, dry laundry out of view of the pool terrace so everyone keeps the nice view. </aside>

👔 Ironing

An iron and ironing board are available in the utility cupboard.
Always use the iron on a flat, heat-safe surface.
Unplug the iron after use and allow it to cool before storing. </aside>

🧵 Laundry Etiquette

Please wash coloured and white items separately.
Avoid washing sandy beachwear directly — give it a good shake outside first. Sand is the fastest way to block a machine filter.
Beach towels are heavy — wash them on their own rather than mixed in with clothes.
If something spills or stains the linens, let us know so we can treat it properly. We would always rather know than find it later. </aside>

🌿 Local Tip

The island air leaves clothes with a fresh, sun-dried scent — no fabric softener needed! Try drying laundry early in the morning before the midday heat.
